“ENTISEMENT’ & SIGNIFICANT OTHER

The other lane in the traffic seems to be moving faster. You cross over to the other lane then you realize the lane you have moved away from is now moving faster and the cycle continues on and on like an oscillation.Welcome to the world of “enticement.’Here the significant “other” is the preference and always looks better than whatever you have in hand not knowing there lies the greatest temptations and the greatest mistakes one makes in life.

Steps of Life #8

The Steps of Life poems are based on the 12 Step programs.

Careless Wrongs

How often we hurt others
with careless disregard.
We get so wrapped up
in our own desires
that we fail to consider
how one’s actions can
hurt another.

An unintentional wrong
is still a wrong that we
must make right.
Clear your life of
wrongs of your past.
Ask for forgiveness,
starting with yourself first!

Scapegoat

There are those to whom
we ask forgiveness,
who refuse to grant us pardon.
Instead they heap blame on us
for every pain they could not solve.
They seek to make us their scapegoat,
and turn us away with cold hearts.

Be at peace for you have done
your part. We can not change
another, and must…

My Horrifying Nightmare (in poem formation)

A Maniac's Menagerie of Motley Thoughts

As breath turns to shadow, I set with the sun,

In gurgling whispers, a child chanting in rhythm,

To the moon’s toneless cackle, a bloody red grin,

Etched into its flesh, blind to the light.

In gurgling whispers, a child chanting in rhythm,

Claws tear at the sky, stars burst at his touch,

Etched into its flesh, blind to the light,

Pleading for day, the night chokes on dusk.

Claws tear at the sky, stars burst at his touch,

Engulfed in darkness, the child looks above,

Pleading for day, the night chokes on dusk,

Blank-eyed and numb, he swallows the stars.

Engulfed in darkness, the child looks above,

To the moon’s toneless cackle, a bloody red grin,

Blank-eyed and numb, he swallows the stars,

As breath turns to shadow, I set with the sun.

In a moment

Master Of Disaster

In a moment
Feel your heart beat
As your pulse races
While you stand atop
The world so high
And look down
Upon creation.

Feel the moment
When the tears flow
There’s no stopping
Wild emotion when
The one thing
You loved the most
Is gone.

Every moment
He stands beside her
While her smell
Lingers on,
Satisfaction;
Somewhat like
A slice of heaven?

A quiet moment
Inner peace
So hard to find
In the raucous crowd
A single point
That makes us
Feel complete.

Right in that instant
A moment of sin
So hard to break
A promise well kept
All gone away
With a twisted smile,
In a wisp of smoke.

So many things
To learn in life
So easy, hard
And in between
But everything does
It all begins
In a moment.
